Starfarm T'ai Chi for Seniors (and other beginners.)
T'ai Chi has been proven and accepted as the best means for training balance among the population reverently called "senior citizens", a fact widely known. What is not known widely is that the methods behind the movements are also widely accepted in the scientific community as "age reversing" and general health maintenence. The breath work, gentle movements and visualizations are known to produce new cell growth in the brain. While T'ai Chi practice is highly personal, and there are no specific guarantees, generally practicing will make one "feel good".
Instructor Laddie Sacharko has been working with seniors and tai chi for over 10 years, and is a certified tai chi and qigong instructor.
These sessions are geared towards the senior, beginners of all ages will benefit from an hour of concentration (relaxation), breathing, and moving. Generally space is available with priority to seniors first.
This class is held weekly at the Beckish (Columbia (CT) Senior Center. Call 860 228-0759 for more information. A DVD for home practice is available.
