The Plant Engineering / Mechanical and Piping Systems I Group within Westinghouse Electric is currently seeking an engineer. In this position, the incumbent can expect to perform the following duties:
• Preparing appropriate documentation supporting evaluations, analyses and change packages. • Interfacing, on a limited basis with customers, vendors and other internal functional groups on engineering level to obtain information necessary to perform work assignments. • Obtaining results to routine technical problems. • Plan and schedule own work to meet assignment requirements within scheduler and budgetary requirements. • Ensure accuracy and completeness of assigned tasks. • Learn new skills in the areas of pipe stress, pipe support design, buried piping integrity, thermal hydraulics and/or heat transfer.
Qualifications:
A successful candidate will be familiar with and/or have experience with the following:
1. BSME or BSCE is required; MSME or MSCE is desirable. 2. Minimum of 0 - 3 years of work experience. 3. Experience in the Nuclear Energy industry - plant site experience is preferred but not required. 4. Knowledge of plant design change packages (DCP) and their processes is preferred but not required. 5. Knowledge of pipe stress analysis and ASME Code requirements is preferred but not required. 6. Knowledge of pipe support design and analysis and ASME/AISC Code requirements is preferred but not required. 7. Sufficient knowledge within engineering discipline to perform, with direct guidance, routine design, analysis, and evaluations of technical products and services and prepare appropriate supporting documentation. 8. Must possess analytical skills, critical thinking, a passion for attention to details and excellent communication skills including technical writing. 9. Communicate with internal groups, customers, and vendors to obtain necessary information to complete work assignments. 10. Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access in commercial nuclear power facilities. 11. Ability to travel domestically and internationally if required.
